Two speakers are fixed to a pair of deer antlers, as if the object is tuned to something beyond the room. Beside them, a row of exposed components. Power supply, voltage display, microprocessor and amplifier sits on a DIN rail, suggesting an experiment quietly left in progress. The amplifier’s cooling fins echo the antler shape, mirroring nature in metal. What surfaces through the system is a worn and distorted trace of 1970s reggae. Guiding Star by Leroy Sibbles, fragmented by static and time. The antlers seem less like an instrument than a sensitive surface, catching a drifting broadcast from another era, where dub, echo and culture dissolve into atmosphere.
